Conan Exiles Is Live Streaming Today, and Dark Horse is Releasing a Digital Comic in 2017
If you’ve been desperately waiting for more news on Conan Exiles, the open-worldy survivalish game set in the Hyborian Age that will be hitting Early Access on Steam in January and the Xbox One later in the spring, take heart: there’s a live gameplay stream starting in, oh, just about 20 minutes or so. Two of developer Funcom’s head honchos, creative director Joel Bylos and community manager Jens Erik Vaaler, will be showing off the game’s thrall system, where your character can basically torture a bad guy into joining your side. It all sounds appropriately Conan-y. The live stream starts at 1 PM ET (10 AM PT) today, and can be seen at Funcom’s Twitch page.
There’s more, though: Funcom and Dark Horse also announced that the comic book publisher will be releasing a digital comic tie-in to Conan Exiles in January. The comic will color in some of the backstory of the game, for those who want to know the whys and wherefores of their barbarian slaughter. The comic’s team includes writer Michael Moreci, penciller José Luis, and inker Andy Owens, in collaboration with Funcom’s own art director Gavin Whelan and senior concept artist Anders Finér. Expect both game and comic to be out at the very end of January 2017.
