Troy Baker, Emily O’Brien Join Cast of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has already generated enough buzz to make any other videogame franchise jealous, and fans still have no earthly idea what the title is truly about. What they do know is that Kojima is gathering a staggeringly high-caliber cast for the game, and he has now added to those ranks.

Thanks to a since-deleted Instagram post from actress Emily O’Brien, we can confirm that both her and veteran voice actor Troy Baker have joined the cast of Kojima’s first post-Konami project. “Honored to be working alongside these two fine lads on [Hideo Kojima’s] new project Death Stranding,” read the caption on a photo featuring O’Brien, Baker and already-confirmed star of the game Norman Reedus.

The two join a cast already brimming with talent, including the aforementioned Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo Del Toro. Both have extensive experience as videogame voice actors: O’Brien voiced Gamora in Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Camille in League of Legends. Baker is known as one of the hardest working people in videogame voice acting, appearing as Joel in The Last of Us and Booker Dewitt in Bioshock Infinite. He also has previous experience working with Kojima, as he provided the voice for Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

We still don’t know much about the game itself, but Kojima and his team continue to deliver bits of news that help sustain the excitement for Death Stranding. With E3 season rapidly approaching, we should expect more revelations from the Kojima camp.
