Electronic Arts’ Summer Showcase, EA Play, is Returning This June

Two years ago, Electronic Arts made the decision to produce a fan experience separate from the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo, christened EA Play, in an effort to better promote and present their forthcoming titles directly to players. Now, the publisher is preparing for the third iteration of the event later this year.

EA announced Thursday that EA Play 2018 will take place in Los Angeles, Calif. from June 9-11. The event will be housed at the Hollywood Palladium and admission will be free for any fans who choose to descend on Southern California. The event should fit right into the schedule of E3 attendees, as EA’s event will end the day prior to E3’s beginning on June 12.

This year’s event promises more of its past offerings, with hundreds of game stations available for fans to demo all of what the company has to offer in the coming year. Along with plenty of games to try out, there will be food, music and entertainment provided to those in attendance. Those who cannot make the trek to Los Angeles will be able to access everything at EA Play 2018 through EA.com in addition to streams and social media coverage by community creators and influencers. EA will also hold its annual keynote during the event.

The company will introduce a brand-new ticketing system when passes are made available this spring that will “give players better hands-on access to their favorite games.” More information regarding ticketing and the event overall will be announced further down the line.
