Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Mobile Game Trailer Revealed

On Thursday, social game giant Jam City unleashed a teaser trailer for their forthcoming Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery mobile game, which is set to debut in spring of this year.

In the teaser, an owl is seen carrying an envelope of admissions to an unknown character before showcasing the various aspects of being a student at the Hogwarts Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The game is a collaboration between Jam City and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Harry Potter imprint Portkey Games. It takes place between Harry Potter’s birth and his enrollment at Hogwarts, where the players get to create their own avatar. The custom character will learn magic skills and grow as a witch or wizard while attending classes at Hogwarts, forming friendships and rivalries, and making pivotal decisions during their attendance at the prestigious magic academy. Nymphadora Tonks and Bill Weasley will be students around the same time. Big story arcs and small quests will impact the character’s actions, narrative and relationships.

Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe said of the game, “We can’t wait to give fans a first look at the game at A Celebration of Harry Potter, and this spring players will be able to explore Hogwarts fully in their journey toward becoming a witch or wizard.”

Like DeWolfe stated, Potter fans will get formally introduced to the game at the upcoming A Celebration of Harry Potter event at Orlando’s Universal Studios from Jan. 26-28.
