Infiltration Crowned First-Ever Street Fighter V Champion at Evo 2016
Images via EvoKorean player Infiltration won Evo’s largest tournament ever, the Street Fighter V finals. The Street Fighter V tournament began last Friday with more than 5,000 competitors. The last match was Sunday night between Infiltration, playing as Nash, and Japanese player Fuudo, playing as R. Mika.
Infiltration actually lost to Fuudo earlier that day in Street Fighter V’s top eight. Infiltration managed to come back in the losers bracket, and in the final match, beat Fuudo in three straight perfect rounds.
When asked what he changed from his first match with Fuudo, Infiltration simply said, “Download complete.” He’d managed to successfully internalize Fuudo’s strategies from the first match and counteract them in the finale.
This win makes Infiltration a three-time Evo champion. In 2012 and 2013, he was the champion of the Street Fighter X Tekken tournaments.
