MLB The Show 17 Cover Athlete Revealed: Ken Griffey Jr.

MLB The Show is going a little old school for the cover of the next game in the series.

Ken Griffey Jr. will be the player featured on the cover of MLB The Show 17, succeeding Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Griffey Jr. was best known for playing with the Seattle Mariners and will be pictured wearing their jersey on the cover. Griffey Jr. hasn’t played in the MLB since 2010, but he will be playable in the game as a “living legend.”

The Show’s press release describes Griffey Jr. as “A legend both on and off the field, “The Kid” inspired a generation of baseball fans with electric play, a contagious smile, enviable flair, and a swing that’s been imitated but never duplicated for almost three decades.”

MLB The Show 17 will be released on March 28, 2017. Find the full cover art below.
