We can’t wait to bring the magic of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite to you in 2019. Stay tuned for the latest updates! https://t.co/XZd7ZPuCLq#WizardsUnitehttps://t.co/imn46kIGEv

The publisher is widely known at this point for its augmented-reality mobile games Pokemon GO and Ingress. Both games use real geography to encourage players to explore the world around them; Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be built around those same mechanics.
Instead of chasing pocket monsters, players will be able to track down new spells, take down magical beasts and join up with fellow wizards to overcome the evils of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
According to the game’s site, the wizarding community is at risk of being exposed to the Muggle world. Loading into the site alludes to this premise with a notification that it’s been “Muggle-proofed.” Players are able to enlist now as part of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, it explains:
Please resist the urge to panic. Traces of magic are appearing across the Muggle world without warning and in a rather chaotic manner. We worry it is only a matter of time before even the most incurious Muggles catch wind of it. We call on all witches and wizards to help contain the Calamity or risk the worst of times since You Know Who. Brush up on your spells, get your wand ready, and enlist immediately.
There aren’t any firm dates as of yet, nor details on specific game features, but Niantic assures players of “all-new technology and gameplay mechanics.” To stay up to date on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, make sure to enlist and check out the teaser below.
