Overwatch Game of the Year Edition Launching This Month

Get ready to take back the payload. In celebration of its anniversary, Blizzard is launching a Game of the Year edition of the beloved arena shooter Overwatch on May 23.

Broken by True Achievements, the GOTY edition will include the full game, 10 loot boxes, five Origin hero skins, a baby Winston pet for World of Warcraft and a Tracer hero for Heroes of the Storm. This version of the game is remarkably similar to the Origins edition of the game, but with 10 bonus loot boxes.

Anniversary loot boxes will be available and contain over 100 new anniversary-themed items. True Achievements’ datamine of the Xbox store also found that a bundle of 50 loot boxes will be available for purchase from May 23 to June 5, but prices have yet to be revealed.

Blizzard hasn’t confirmed any official details regarding the game’s anniversary event, presumed to begin just three weeks after the previous Uprising event. However, this Reddit post suggests that the game may see a new game mode that involves destroying an objective based on unused voice lines.

We expect more information on the Overwatch anniversary event to be released soon. Make sure to stay tuned to Paste Magazine and give us a follow on Facebook and Twitter.
