Persona 5 Has Been Delayed, But It’ll Be Getting English and Japanese Audio

Persona 5 has been out in Japan since September, but for those of us stuck in the English-speaking parts of the world, the wait just got even longer.

Originally slated for a February release, Persona 5 has been delayed to April 4 because, as the announcement post from Atlus PR Manager John Hardin states, “Persona 5 set the gold standard for Atlus with its launch in Japan, and we wanted to put the utmost care into ensuring it winds up the best when it launches in the west.”

To help assuage the pain of an extra two month wait, the post also reveals that the game will be getting both Japanese and English dubs for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The dual audio will be DLC “for logistical reasons, but it will be free, for forever.” Apparently it was a “herculean effort” to get it in the game, but “just about every division of Atlus” put in the work to make it happen.

There’s also a free PS4 theme to download on the PlayStation Network for the next 24 hours of Ryuji Sakamoto, one of the protagonist’s fellow students, and a new trailer which you can watch below.
