Weeklong Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza Event Starts Today
Image via The Pokémon Company/NianticGet ready to focus on hatching more than catching, you seven people still playing Pokémon GO, because the hit mobile game’s “Eggstravaganza” event starts this afternoon.
Beginning today at 4 p.m. EST and lasting for exactly a week, a wider variety of Pokémon will be able to be found in 2 km eggs. Not only should trainers get ready for near-constant hatching, but they’ll also earn a greater number of candies for each egg hatched.
Top this off with a weeklong double-XP bonus, and perhaps you’ll finally be able to break through the iron barriers that are every level past 20. Paired with a Lucky Egg, this seven-day bonus will let players earn experience at up to four times their usual rate (and be warned, Lucky Eggs will also be 50 percent off in the in-game shop for the week).
Their third consecutive monthly event, Niantic has been making a concerted effort to engage Pokémon GO’s player base after legions of users disengaged with the app following its massive summer 2016 launch.
