Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed to October 2018

The overwhelming majority of videogame fans have been feverishly anticipating the release of Rockstar Games’ sequel to the last-gen classic Red Dead Redemption. It looks like we’ll all have to wait a bit longer.

Rockstar announced Thursday that Red Dead Redemption 2 will miss its spring 2018 release window and is now scheduled to release on Oct. 26, 2018. In their statement, Rockstar offered an apologetic response “to everyone disappointed by this delay,” as they are holding off the game’s release to allow “a little extra time for polish.”

“We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it,” the developer said. The news was accompanied by a collection of breathtaking new screenshots from the game for the fan who needed more to stoke their excitement for the forthcoming title.

The company is also looking “forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.” We’re sure the masses share Rockstar’s sentiment.
