Rockstar Announces Red Dead Redemption 2 Announcement for Next Week

It’s been all quiet in the Wild West when it comes to news for Red Dead Redemption 2, the third (strangely) entry of Rockstar Games’s series. After Rockstar delayed the open-world game from late 2017 to spring 2018, the developer promised more details during the summer. Barely just making it during the first day of autumn, the developer snuck in an announcement—though it’s more so an announcement of an announcement.

Rockstar only provided the image with no further context, but the red-and-white color scheme and font are all too familiar to fans of Red Dead Redemption. Expect a trailer (perhaps one longer than a minute this time), hopefully a release date and likely some more details on Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. EDT.

There isn’t too much information on the game’s story yet, but seeing as how the game’s predecessor was essentially about the “death” of the Wild West, many are speculating that it will be a prequel. If you ask us, we hope that it isn’t about those dang Marstons again.
