Stern Is Making A Ghostbusters-Themed Pinball Machine

Chicago-based Stern Pinball announced today that its Ghostbusters-themed pinball machines are now available to the public. They’ll feature a moving, interactive Slimer, illustrations by artist Zombie Yeti and custom dialog from Ernie Hudson, who plays Winston Zeddemore in the original film.

“The Ghostbusters pinball machine celebrates the much loved original movie produced by Columbia Pictures and gives fans a fun, entertaining, high energy pinball experience,” said Gary Stern, Stern’s Chairman and CEO, in a press release. “After all, it’s the Ghostbusters!”

The machine will come in pro, premium and limited editions. The premium and limited editions feature an additional interactive ghost hologram target, “para-normal” magnetic action slingshots, distinctive ramp architecture and additional custom molded toys. The pro machine is going for a cool $5,995, while the premium and limited editions are available for $7,595 and $8,795, respectively. For more specifics, visit Stern’s site.

Once we can afford to buy a machine for the Paste office (never) or go play it at an arcade, we’ll be able to determine whether it makes the cut for our list of pinball games better than the movies upon which they’re based.
