Capcom confirmed today that Ed, Balrog’s protegé, will soon be coming to Street Fighter V via forthcoming DLC.
Following some recent NeoGAF leaks, fans shouldn’t be too surprised by the trailer above. Ed comes as a part of the game’s Season 2 Character Pass, which also includes Akuma, Kolin, and three other as-yet-unconfirmed characters for later this year. No release date was announced for the character, though the character will be temporarily free to use during this week’s Capcom Fighters Network beta test, which runs from May 11-14.
You might notice that the stage in the trailer, Temple Hideout, is same one that was pulled from PS4 and PC last week after the sounds of an Islamic prayer (in Arabic) were heard in the background. The level, which is a remake of a classic Street Fighter II stage, was made available again after the “unintentional religious references” were removed.
