The Sims 4 Moves Away from Gendered Restrictions

Games News the sims

In an upcoming free expansion, The Sims 4 will remove many gender restrictions in its Create-A-Sim mode, Polygon reports. This includes allowing many previously gender specific clothes, accessories, hair styles, gaits and speech styles to be used by any Sim, regardless of gender. This update will affect 700 different items and options.

“The Sims is made by a diverse team for a diverse audience, and it’s really important to us that players are able to be creative and express themselves through our games,” publisher EA said in a statement. “We want to make sure players can create characters they can identify with or relate to through powerful tools that give them influence over a Sim’s gender, age, ethnicity, body type and more.”

It’s about damn time.
