The Walking Dead: The Final Season Will Come to PC Exclusively on the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store will become the new home for The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Skybound Games, some original Telltale Games developers and Epic Games have collaborated to bring the series to an end following the original development studio’s sudden closure earlier in the year. Fans who already bought the season on a different PC platform will still receive the final two episodes through their previous point of purchase.

Although the company didn’t provide many details, Skybound Games had announced last month that the final two episodes would resume development with as much of the original development team as possible.

In a joint statement, Skybound’s President of Interactive Dan Murray and CEO Ian Howe said:

The team at Epic owns a major chapter in the history of the game industry. We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season.

The Epic Games Store will also have the previous episodes of the season for those who wish to buy them on the platform. While the store may not currently have many games, this is another great acquisition for the digital marketplace, as there are many fans who look forward to seeing the conclusion of Clementine’s story.

Watch the teaser for episode three, “Broken Toys,” below. You can also watch a video from Skybound Games, in which Melissa Hutchison, the voice actor behind Clementine, answers several questions about the final season. The episode will be released on Jan. 15, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
