Thumper Arrives for PS4, PSVR and Steam on October 13

Thumper, the “rhythm violence” game from Drool, a development team made up of former Harmonix employees Marc Flury and Brian Gibson, finally has a release date. It’ll be launching for PS4, Playstation VR and Steam on October 13, 2016, alongside the release of PSVR.

Thumper was my favorite game of E3 2015, where I was impressed by its tense, claustrophobic take on the rhythm game, and that was before it became playable in VR. With those goggles strapped to my face I’ll probably feel as physically confined as I did psychologically on the E3 floor last year.

Drool also announced a collector’s edition that’ll be available through iam8bit. That comes with a code for the game, a download of the full soundtrack, and a limited edition vinyl picture disc with game music from Gibson (who’s one of the two geniuses behind the band Lightning Bolt) and artwork from Robert Beatty. The collector’s edition will be available for pre-order here on June 30, at 9 AM PDT.
