Ghostbusters Featurette Explains the Science of Proton Packs

Now that our Ghostbuster’s reboot anticipation has been somewhat placated, we can now move on to asking the important questions. You know, like how those proton packs actually work.

This recently released featurette hosted by one of the film’s advisors, MIT’s Dr. James Maxwell, walks us through the real “science” of ghostbusting. Maxwell was behind the scientifically accurate papers laying around the Ghostbusters HQ, as well as the whiteboards, one of which includes an equation for the Paranormal Studies Lab’s website—an online tie-in to the work being done in the film by Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy’s characters.
