DC’s had a rough year in the film arena following the complete and utter dumpster fire that was Batman v Superman, but Batman: The Killing Joke, with its hard-R rating and returning voice cast from Batman: The Animated Series, promises at least a partial return to glory.
DC certainly seems to believe so, since they announced earlier today that they’re premiering the film at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 22. As with their previous Comic-Con premieres, DC will hold a post-screening panel discussion featuring most of the core cast and filmmakers.
Batman: The Killing Joke is out Aug. 2 on DVD and Blu-ray, and will be available from digital retailers starting July 26. Watch the film’s trailer below, and cross your fingers and toes in the hopes that Disney doesn’t schedule anything Star Wars-related during the Killing Joke Comic-Con panel out of spite.
