Take a First Look at Bill & Ted Face the Music

The very first look at Bill & Ted Face the Music is here. The newest installment in the time-traveling duo’s adventures see William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Keanu Reeves) facing middle age and a worldwide crisis. Their mission? Finding a song to bring harmony in the universe and get the world back on beat. Teaming up with Bill & Ted are their daughters, portrayed by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine, as well as a few to-be-named historical figures and music legends.

The first-look photos show that time has caught up with them, as well as Death (William Sadler). It’s a bit jarring to see Reeves clean-shaven and out of his John Wick suit, but comforting knowing that he’s still going to be saving the world. We also get a look at franchiser newcomer Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi. The colorful stills offer a glimpse at a wonderful and wacky return to Bill & Ted in store for viewers when Bill & Ted Face the Music is released in theaters Aug. 21, 2020.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest), from a screenplay by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey), and produced by Scott Kroopf, Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce. Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, Hal Landon Jr. and Amy Stoch also star.
