Brie Larson Shares Post-Production Captain Marvel Wrap Photo
Photo by Kevork Djansezian/GettyMarvel Comics will be notably absent from Comic-Con this month, but at least Brie Larson teased fans of the franchise with one new update yesterday. In 2016, Marvel announced that Larson landed the lead in Captain Marvel, the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (out of the previous 20) to focus solely on a female superhero. To celebrate the film’s wrap, Larson tweeted a caption-less photo of the film’s clapperboard with a calendar highlighting the last day of the film’s shooting schedule, July 6.

The film will follow Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, who acquires superpowers after her DNA fuses with an alien’s in an accident. Larson won an Oscar in 2016 for Room and has trained for months to learn how to fly. Check out a first look of her Danvers here.
The clapperboard is autographed by Larson’s co-stars, but for those who can’t read that chicken scratch, the cast includes Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Jude Law and Annette Bening. Since the film is set in the ‘90s, Gregg, Jackson, Hounsou and Lee were all able to reprise their Marvel roles for Captain Marvel.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind) co-directed Captain Marvel, which hits the big screen March 8, 2019.
