Sadly, on Thursday night, the series finale of Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer’s beloved comedy Broad City aired. We don’t need to mourn for too long, though (okay, fine, cry into your phone wig a bit more if you must), because Glazer already has another iron in the fire. THR reports she is starring in A24’s forthcoming horror film False Positive, which she also co-wrote with John Lee. Filming begins on April 1 (and let’s hope it’s not an April Fool’s Day joke).
Lee, who’s known for creating Wonder Showzen and directing half a dozen episodes of Broad City, is helming the project. THR describes False Positive as a “psychological horror film,” though we don’t have any further details about the movie’s plot.
However, we do have more information about the cast, which includes Justin Theroux and Pierce Brosnan. Also on the bill are Zainab Jah (Homeland), Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), Sophia Bush (Incredibles 2) and Josh Hamilton (Eighth Grade).
Considering Jordan Peele’s star turn into the horror realm, we’re anxious to see how the hilarious Glazer pivots to this next phase of her career.
