The director of 21 Grams brings us a new film that takes a look at a washed up actor played by Michael Keaton. This comedy is quite unexpected; it comes from a director known for stern, bummer dramas (see Babel for reference). Even though this film comes from an unlikely creative, it still doesn’t take away from how interesting the movie itself looks, featuring a nice tracking shot along with a slowed down, almost militant version of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”. Also, Keaton punches Edward Norton in the face. Birdman comes out Oct. 17.
