Image via Warner Bros. PicturesThe ball has begun rolling on the release of It: Chapter Two.
The highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2017 Stephen King adaptation is set to hit theaters on Sept. 5, and it looks like the studio is doing everything in its power to stir up fanfare for its premiere: Warner Bros. has announced that IT: Chapter One will return to theaters for two nights in August, and each screening will end on a post-credits, eight-minute preview of its second installment.
Set 27 years after the events of the first film, It: Chapter Two follows the adult versions of The Losers’ Club reuniting in Derry after Pennywise resurfaces. The film stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader, among others, and sees the return of Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, as well as brief flashback scenes of the younger Losers’ Club. Xavier Dolan also makes an appearance, strangely enough.
The screenings will take place on Aug. 3 and Aug. 6, and it’ll be a nice refresher before you sit through the literal three-hour runtime of Chapter Two. You can find tickets for the screenings here and revisit the film’s trailers here.
