lt’s Official: Daniel Craig Will Return as James Bond, Star Says on Late Show

After months of agonizing back-and-forth—including threats of wrist-slashing—Daniel Craig has finally, officially been lured back to reprise his role as James Bond for a fifth consecutive film. Craig confirmed what had long been rumored as a part of his interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. And as Colbert says, they “don’t want to be fake news.”

This is exciting news for many fans of the long-running franchise. While the debate will rage eternally as to whom is the best James Bond of all time, there are plenty of reasons to put Craig’s version at the top. He brings a muscular, brooding intensity to the role that had never been previously seen, and the franchise has seen a critical and commercial revival with Craig as the lead—even if we still have no idea what the hell happened in Quantum of Solace.

Look for craggy Craig’s Bond to return to theaters on Nov. 8, 2019. If you can’t wait that long, be sure to keep your eyes out for him in Logan Lucky, which hits theaters this weekend.
