John Carpenter Announces Four Night Musical Residency in L.A.

Iconic horror director, writer, producer, and composer John Carpenter has just announced a four night musical residency at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles that will run from Oct. 24th to Nov. 1st, 2025. This will be Carpenter’s first ever musical residency and first live performance in seven years.
Ticket sales are live for pre-registered fans and will open to the general public this Friday, January 31st.
Carpenter is the visionary behind classic and immensely popular horror films including Halloween (1978), The Thing (1982), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), The Fog (1980), Escape from New York (1981) and many others–in fact, we’ve previously ranked all 18 of Carpenter’s feature films. As a musician, Carpenter crafted Lost Themes (2015), Lost Themes II (2016), and Lost Themes III: Alive After Death (2021), three critically acclaimed non-soundtrack albums that showcase his unique experimental, synth-rock style. He also composed two albums titled Anthology, featuring re-recorded versions of his beloved film scores.
Carpenter will be joined onstage by son Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, with whom he scored his Lost Themes albums. To celebrate their longtime collaborative efforts, the trio has announced a Lost Themes 10th Anniversary Expanded Edition featuring new artwork by Greg Ruth and two previously unreleased songs from the album’s original recording session: “Dominator” and “Cruisin’ With Mr. Scratch.” The expanded edition is now available for preorder. You can hear “Crusin’ With Mr. Scratch” below.
John Carpenter is also partnering with PLUS1 to support incarcerated firefighters and displaced animals in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires. Two dollars from each ticket sale will go to the Anti-Recidivism Coalition and Best Friends Animal Society.
For Carpenter fans, this will not be an event to miss. “I’ve been setting my nightmares, dreams and visions to music for a very long time, and there’s a lot to choose from,” Carpenter said. “That means every night of this event will offer something different and unexpected.”
The four night event will be produced by Live Nation in association with Storm King Productions.
