Jamie Lee Curtis Joins Rian Johnson-Directed Murder Mystery Knives Out

Fresh off a record-breaking opening weekend for Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis has joined the all-star cast of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery Knives Out, per Variety.

Curtis joins Ana de Armas as Knives Out’s second announced female cast member to date, although neither of their roles have yet been revealed. All that has been revealed so far is that lead Daniel Craig will play a detective, as will Lakeith Stanfield, with Chris Evans, Michael Shannon and Don Johnson appearing in still-unknown roles.

Notably, Curtis joins the cast of Knives Out on the heels of the Halloween franchise’s highest-grossing installment to date. So far, the 2018 Halloween has grossed over $90 million domestically, breaking the worldwide franchise record that the 2007 Halloween set with its $80-million run, and it’s not even Oct. 31 yet. Blumhouse has not yet officially announced a sequel to its retconned Halloween, although that’s sure to come sometime in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, fellow Knives Out stars Craig and Evans are set to make their final bows in their trademark roles as James Bond and Captain America, respectively, in the Cary Fukunaga-directed Bond 25 and Avengers 4, respectively.

Production is set to begin on Knives Out in November.
