Parasite Streams Exclusively on Hulu Starting in April

Glory to the holy WiFi, for today (Feb. 24), it brings us the news that Paste’s top movie of 2019, Bong Joon Ho’s Best Picture-winning Parasite, is coming to streaming on April 8, when it will be available exclusively on Hulu.

The acclaimed film made history earlier this month when it became the first non-English-language feature to win the top Oscar, also taking home statuettes in the Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film categories. The 92nd Academy Awards were the epic capper on a dominant awards season for Parasite, which also earned the Cannes Film Festival’s coveted Palme D’or, the SAG Award for Best Ensemble Cast and a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film. Trump recently derided the film’s Best Picture win, as well, in case you needed any more evidence of its quality.

Parasite comes to Hulu via NEON’s multi-year licensing deal with the streamer, struck back in 2017. Another acclaimed NEON title, Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire, will also eventually make its way to the service.

In case you’re just now coming out from under a rock (which means you’ll find Parasite particularly resonant), a Hulu press release synopsizes the film as follows: “Greed, class discrimination and a mysterious interloper threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.” Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Cho Yeo Jeong, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam, Chang Hyae Jin and Lee Jung Eun star in the film, which the beloved director Bong co-wrote with Jin Won Han and, yeah, directed.

Watch a trailer for Parasite below (or better yet, go see it) ahead of its April 8 Hulu debut.
