Here’s the Full List of Acquisitions Made at Sundance 2017

Another Sundance has come and gone, but the remarkable number of acquisitions that were made at Park City over the past 10 days is a topic of conversation that won’t be disappearing anytime soon. Per IndieWire, valuation and sales for the 2017 edition of the festival were nearly a third higher than last year, and 2016 was the year that saw Amazon Studios dropping $10 million on Manchester By the Sea and Fox Searchlight shelling out a whopping $17.5 million for The Birth of a Nation.

This year’s most voracious buyer was Netflix, which picked up nine titles over the past week and a half. Among the streaming giant’s purchases are Jim Strouse’s The Incredible Jessica James; Marti Noxon’s To the Bone, starring Keanu Reeves and Lily Collins; and streaming rights to Berlin Syndrome, Cate Shortland’s variation on the kidnapping thriller. Amazon likewise won big by nabbing Michael Showalter’s based-on-real-life romantic comedy The Big Sick, one of the most celebrated titles at the festival, while A24, despite only picking up one film, certainly left happy because that single purchase was David Lowery’s A Ghost Story, which has been flooring critics left and right. Other high-profile acquisitions include the buying of acclaimed rap drama Patti Cake$ by Fox Searchlight and Luca Guadagnino’s gay romance Call Me By Your Name by Sony Pictures Classics.
