Elle Fanning Sings Robyn in First Trailer for Teen Spirit

Elle Fanning sings Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own” in the trailer for musical drama Teen Spirit, the directorial debut of Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Social Network).

Fanning stars as Violet, a shy teenager who dreams of escaping her small town and pursuing her passion for singing. With the help of an unlikely mentor, she enters Teen Spirit, a local singing competition that tests her integrity, talent and ambition. Written and directed by Minghella, Teen Spirit also stars Rebecca Hall, Zlatko Buric and Agnieszka Grochowska.

Teen Spirit features “Wildflowers,” a new original song written by Carly Rae Jepsen and produced by Jack Antonoff, along with Fanning performing tracks by Grimes, Ariana Grande, Tegan & Sara, Annie Lennox and others.

Teen Spirit opens in select theaters on April 5, 2019.
