The Incredibles 2 Teaser Is Now the Most-Viewed Trailer for an Animated Film
Images via Disney-Pixar/YouTubeFans of The Incredibles sure were eager for any sort of glimpse of the forthcoming Disney-Pixar sequel, and the viewing statistics certainly reflect that. Per EW, the 52-second teaser had the biggest debut for an animated film trailer ever.
Premiering as promised during last Saturday’s College Gameday, EW reports that the teaser has since garnered over 113 million views. Along with being the biggest trailer debut for an animated film, the teaser is the seventh-biggest debut period, including non-animated films. The brief teaser focuses largely on baby Jack-Jack, who was revealed to have a multitude of powers at the end of the first film.
Here’s the official synopsis for the much-anticipated sequel:
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2—but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
