Angel Olsen to Danny Brown: “It’s Time to Collaborate”

Angel Olsen and Danny Brown are each celebrating a release day today, Oct. 4: Olsen’s All Mirrors is out now on Jagjaguwar, while Brown’s uknowhatimsayin¿ is available via Warp. That’s not all they have in common, either: Both Olsen and Brown are onboard for a collaboration the likes of which we could not possibly begin to deserve.

Olsen reached out to the rapper via Twitter on Thursday night, declaring, “It’s time to collaborate. The time is nigh.” Brown responded early Friday morning, gushing, “Ready whenever you are I’d be honored.”

Contrary to popular belief, every now and then, we can have nice things.

Olsen and Brown share one more similarity we’ll call your attention to: Both released tracks that ended up on Paste’s list of September’s best songs, including Olsen’s “Lark” and Brown’s “Best Life.” You would do well to give both a listen, along with their respective albums, which very well may make their way onto our list of October’s best albums, judging by our glowing reviews of both All Mirrors and uknowhatimsayin¿.

Stay tuned for more on Olsen and Brown’s collaboration, and listen to Brown’s 2011 Daytrotter session below. All Mirrors and uknowhatimsayin¿ are now streaming.
