Aphex Twin Teases New EP, Collapse

Electronic artist Richard D. James, who works under the Aphex Twin moniker, has been teasing his latest EP, which will be his first new music in two years. Aphex Twin’s label, Warp Records, shared a cryptic tweet on Sunday revealing the EP’s title, Collapse, and, well, not much else. The “warped” note is several paragraphs of what appears to be gibberish:

Since that note is considerably illegible, the account also shared a typed transcript of the letter. They warn, however, that the confusion is far from over, writing, “Prepare to be further confused by this guff.” Check out the “guff” for yourself below.

There’s no (identifiable) word yet on the EP’s release date. Collapse will follow Aphex Twin’s 2016 release, Cheetah EP. Last year, he shared a mysterious countdown on his website and livestreamed a performance for the first time.

Back in 2016, we caught Aphex Twin at Day for Night Festival just a few nights shy of Christmas. Explore the photo gallery here.
