CHVRCHES Release Dramatic, Foggy “Miracle” Video

Scottish electro-pop trio CHVRCHES have shared a new video for “Miracle,” taken from their forthcoming album Love Is Dead, out on May 25 via Glassnote Records.

Following previously released singles “Never Say Die,” “My Enemy” (featuring The National’s Matt Berninger) and “Get Out,” the Stephen Mac-produced “Miracle” may be their most overt radio pop song yet, as it features light production, EDM-like synths and percussion, and Mayberry’s sugary pop vocals asking for reciprocation or assurance of feelings from the subject of her romance.

The new Warren Fu-directed video features Mayberry and the band walking through a foggy backdrop as they somehow remain unscathed while vigilante street gangs fight each other nearby. The high-concept video features a dramatic climax in which a glowing blue heart explodes (perhaps a nod to the album title) and Mayberry is splattered with blue paint.

The band has announced a 14-date fall North American tour with stops in San Diego, Seattle, St. Paul, Asheville, Nashville and Boston, among others. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 27 at 10 a.m. local time, with $1 from each ticket benefitting Girls Rock Camp via Plus 1.

CHVRCHES also recently covered Beyonce’s “XO” as part of a live session on the Honda Stage for their official Vevo page. Watch their Beyonce cover here.
