In honor of SXSW 2019, Paste will be highlighting the best sessions previously recorded during the festival at the Riverview Bungalow in Austin.

On an overcast Austin day in 2015, Courtney Barnett introduced the Riverview Bungalow to the fill-in-the-blank suburban town she calls “Depreston.”

For the stripped-down solo session, Barnett’s dynamic lyricism constructs the intricacies and compromises of suburban living as the song’s recognizable, yet seemingly secondary riffs drive the song through the Bungalow.
