Eleanor Friedberger’s “In Between Stars” Video Is Super L.A.
From Friedberger's forthcoming Rebound LP.
Eleanor Friedberger brings sunny vibes to her visuals for “In Between Stars,” the first single from her new album Rebound, out May 4. The video was shot by Friedberger and edited by Los Angeles-based video artist Danny Perez.
The clip finds Friedberger dancing amidst swirling colors and singing to herself while driving across a desert landscape. The whole thing has a hazy, homemade feel — sort of retro VHS-style, and super L.A.
“I saw Danny do live visuals for Body/Head (Kim Gordon and Bill Nace) and Bjorn Copeland (formerly of Black Dice) while I was in L.A. in January,” says Friedberger. “I thought his use of analog feedback and bold color fit the mood of Rebound perfectly. With a little moral support and instruction from Kim Gordon: ‘move around, just twirl.’ I turned the camera on myself and hit record.”
