Watch Ex Hex Shred Through “Cosmic Cave” on Seth Meyers

Mary Timony’s Ex Hex power trio made their return to Late Night with Seth Meyers Monday to perform “Cosmic Cave,” the latest cut taken from the band’s 2019 album It’s Real.

The band’s performance was a whirlwind of black leather, bright lipstick and sheer effortlessness, to say the least: Guitarists Timony and Betsy Wright (of Bat Fangs), and drummer Laura Harris, also joined by touring bassist Michelle Mae, looked completely at ease when ending the scuzzy-beachy garage-rock number on its haywire, two-minute-long instrumental outro. It’s a fittingly energetic performance for the most infectious, pop-leaning cut from the album, and, yeah, it rules.
