First Aid Kit Record New Song in Jack White’s Third Man Studios

Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit, comprised of sisters Klara and Johanna Soderberg, have recorded a new song, and there’s something special about it: it was recorded in Jack White’s Third Man Studios, a retro vinyl recording booth in Nashville, Tenn. According to the sisters’ Instagram, the song sounds “really old.”

This new song could be the signs of work on a forthcoming album or EP, which will be the band’s first since 2014’s Stay Gold; and their fourth album overall. First Aid Kit worked with members of both Bright Eyes and the Omaha Symphony Orchestra to produce Stay Gold, and it’ll be interesting to see other collaborators weigh in on their future projects, as well as to watch the duo experiment with recording styles like they did in Third Man Studios.

The band hasn’t been very active since 2014, when Stay Gold was released and they were featured on Conor Oberst’s (of Bright Eyes) album, but all signs point to the sisters recording music for a brand-new release.
