Watch Florence + The Machine Debut Two New Songs Live

After the announcement of their highly anticipated new album, Florence + The Machine have debuted two new songs live at their first show of 2018.

The show took place on Saturday at Victoria Theatre in Halifax, England where Florence + The Machine played two brand new tracks, “Patricia” and “100 Years,” from their forthcoming album, High As Hope, out on June 29 via Republic Records. Both “Patricia” and “100 Years” are uplifting orchestral pop songs showing off the unique, fluttering nuances of Florence Welch’s powerful vocals. Welch and company previously unveiled two singles from the record, “Hunger” and “Sky Full of Song.”

The new album was written, mixed and co-produced by frontwoman Welch, marking her first time co-producing a Florence + The Machine album. The record features appearances from Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr., Kelsey Lu and Jamie xx.

Florence says that the new record was inspired by her South London upbringing, her family, relationships and art itself. “There’s a lot of love in this record, loneliness too, but a lot of love,” she said. “It’s always a work in progress, and I definitely don’t have everything figured out. But this feels like quite a pure expression of who I am now, as an artist, and an honest one. I’m just more comfortable with who I am.”

Florence + The Machine’s show in Halifax was the first on their recently announced intimate theater tour, which will make a few stops in the U.S., as well.
