Garbage Announce Strange Little Birds Summer Tour

Music News

No need to take the Garbage out—they’re doing it themselves. The band is hitting the road for a summer tour in support of their forthcoming sixth album, Strange Little Birds. The new dates, sandwiched between previously announced European dates, will take the American-Scottish alt-rock veterans to the Midwest and East Coast.

By the time the tour kicks off at Milwaukee’s Summerfest on July 7, Garbage’s new album—their first since 2012’s Not Your Kind of People—will already be out. The band released the album’s lead single, “Empty,” last month—you can listen to it here.

“To me, this record, funnily enough, has the most to do with the first record than any of the previous records,” said frontwoman Shirley Manson. “It’s getting back to that beginner’s headspace. In part, that’s a result of not having anyone to answer to.”

Strange Little Birds is due out on June 10 via the band’s own label, STUNVOLUME. Tickets for the US leg of the tour go on sale May 6. See Garbage’s US tour dates below, and their European dates via the band’s website here.
