GoldLink Releases Bouncy New Cut with Tyler, The Creator and Jay Prince

GoldLink has released the latest cut from his forthcoming album Diaspora, a buoyant, cool track featuring Tyler, The Creator and Jay Prince.
“U Say” puts the rhythmic ideas of bossa nova at the forefront and molds them to fit a bigger, brighter dance-floor anthem. GoldLink coolly travels over warm, sedated keyboards and an unhurried bass line, but leaves room for Jay Prince’s steadied refrain, where he chants: “You say need it / So why waste time?” Tyler, The Creator slides in at the halfway mark to jump over the throbbing surges of percussion and disappear moments later.
“U Say” follows the release of “Joke Ting,” the musician’s first solo release since 2017’s At What Cost, which earned him a Best Rap/Sung Performance nomination at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, and the debut of his Beats 1 radio show IFFY FM, which exclusively plays the “sounds of the black diaspora.”
The DMV native is set to release his second studio album Diaspora on June 12 via Squaaash Club/RCA Records, will support Tyler, The Creator on his upcoming summer tour and is slated to perform at Brooklyn’s Afropunk Festival in late August.
