Grimes Will Release New Music Later This Week

Grimes is set to release new music this Thursday, Nov. 29.

The synth-pop star has been teasing her forthcoming album since the beginning of the year, when she announced on Twitter that her latest record could be expected in late 2018. Over the summer, Grimes tweeted two previews of new tracks “adore u” and “4am,” and she previewed her single “that’s what the drugs are for” in an Apple commercial back in June.

Grimes finally took to Twitter on Monday to announce the album’s official release date.

She also seemingly revealed the album’s cover art, though it’s difficult to decipher the title.

While working on her new music, Grimes recently collaborated with Janelle Monae on “Pynk” and K-pop girl group LOONA/yyxy on “love4eva.” She is also featured on Poppy’s track “Play Destroy,” released last month.

Her most recent full-length release was 2015’s Art Angels. The record included popular tracks “Artangels,” “Kill V. Maim” and “Flesh Without Blood.”

Grimes has also launched an online store with new merchandise including T-shirts, stickers and more, available for purchase here.

In anticipation of Thursday, check out Grimes’ 2013 Daytrotter Session below, featuring “Be A Body,” “Genesis” and “Nightmusic.”
