Hans Zimmer spent the first part of the year on tour, playing his iconic movie scores to sold-out audiences throughout Europe. Now he’s bringing his musical talents to the United States for a few shows, his first in the U.S., before embarking on another European tour.
Zimmer, who composed the scores to The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception and The Dark Knight, just to name a few, will play shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas in April before touring in Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Germany, France, Ireland, The Netherlands, Switzerland and more for the next two months.
The tour features Zimmer playing a medley of songs on drums, piano, guitar and banjo, along with an orchestra’s worth of musicians. During some shows on his last tour, he was joined by Johnny Marr and Pharrell, and he’s teased similar high-profile appearances for the upcoming tour, though he’s not saying who just yet.
“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do,” Zimmer said in a press release. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”
