Starting off the week on a high note, Top Dawg Entertainment (the record label behind To Pimp a Butterfly, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and more) has announced The Championship Tour, their first-ever full-label run. Labelmates Kendrick Lamar, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SiR and Lance Skiiwalker will headline the Live Nation event, opening May 4 in Vancouver. More artists are expected to be announced.
Founded in 2004 by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, Top Dawg Entertainment currently boasts two Grammy-nominated superstars in SZA and Lamar. Both artists are among the most-nominated artists this year, with Lamar acquiring seven nominations and SZA having five. The two will perform live on stage at the awards show airing this Sunday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. EST. TDE has also recently gained notoriety for being the record label behind the Black Panther soundtrack, from which two singles, “King’s Dead” and “All the Stars,” have recently been released.
Tickets for the tour go on sale via ticketmaster.com on Jan. 26 at 12 p.m. local time. American Express members can purchase tickets before the general public for select cities from Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, Jan. 25 at 12 p.m. local time.
