Gallery: 4 Days of Music at Kilby Block Party
Photos by Emilio Herce
Last weekend, Kilby Block Party descended upon Salt Lake City for four grand days of good music. While other festivals tend to have cookie-cutter headliners and blindly follow what’s trending, the Utah-based music festival focuses on offering a variety of quality artists, ranging from up-and-comers to legendary acts. This year, big-ticketers like Weezer, Justice, and Beach House headlined while smaller bands like Been Stellar, Being Dead, and Friko got some love too. Plus, some former Paste cover stars got in on the action, including Slowdive, Car Seat Headrest, Nation of Language, Youth Lagoon, and Geese.
Associate editor Tatiana Tenreyro wrote, “For the past five years or so, I’ve felt frustrated with music festivals. Maybe it’s part of getting older—still ‘young’ but no longer part of the TikTok-obsessed demographic that fests now target—but there hadn’t been a lineup that beckoned me to make the trek out of the East Coast to see bands play. That is, except Kilby Block Party.”
