King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Share Roadhouse-Ready New Single “Boogieman Sam”

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have unveiled “Boogieman Sam,” the third single from their forthcoming album Fishing For Fishies.

Frontman Stu Mackenzie said of the band’s latest project in a statement:

We tried to make a blues record. A blues-boogie-shuffle-kinda-thing, but the songs kept fighting it—or maybe it was us fighting them. Ultimately though we let the songs guide us this time; we let them have their own personalities and forge their own path. Paths of light, paths of darkness. This is a collection of songs that went on wild journeys of transformation.

Thus far, “Boogieman Sam” hits closest to the bluesy sound the Australian psych-rockers were aiming for, with rollicking guitar making parts of the track perfect for roadhouse shenanigans. It’s a song meant for jamming, whether on the organ, the guitar or whatever instrument is lying around your house. And believe us, that organ rocks.
