LCD Soundsystem Announce Two New Remixes from American Dream

LCD Soundsystem have announced two new remixes from their latest album to send you dancing into the weekend. Or, as is more likely, you’ll be physically dancing while mentally circling the existential drain—the band has definitely cornered the market on that particular brand of music—but there are new remixes nonetheless!

After a semi-staged breakup and a farewell performance at Madison Square Garden in 2011, the band got back together to release last year’s American Dream, an album that Paste hailed as “a beautiful work of art about aging, regret and an arduous search for meaning.”

Now, James Murphy and co. have commissioned two artists to revamp two tracks. Berlin DJ Dixon remixed “i used to,” while Lovefingers, or Andrew Hogge, created two new versions of album opener “oh baby.”

Both remixes will be released as 12” vinyl singles Aug. 10, and are available to preorder here.

Watch LCD Soundsystem perform “oh baby” at Austin City Limits below, and be sure to check out a clip from the Paste vault of the band playing Sound of Silver classic “North American Scum.”
