Watch: Lizzo Gives Moving Speech at Sacramento Pride Festival

Lizzo is currently on tour supporting her critically acclaimed album Cuz I Love You, released in April.

As a body-positive feminist and LGBTQ ally, Lizzo gave special performances at several festivals supporting Pride Month. She played sets last week in Sacramento and Indianapolis.

On June 8 and 9, the skilled singer, rapper and flautist headlined two shows.

In between performances, she gave a passionate and articulate speech that paid homage to the trans community and Black Lives Matter.

In the video below, watch Lizzo recognize her platform and powerfully honor fans of marginalized communities:

The video, posted to Lizzo’s social media accounts, is moving fans who attended the Pride festival and beyond.

“Just your daily reminder that black trans women need to be protected & prioritized,” Lizzo wrote on Instagram. “We ain’t free till we ALL free. Thank you for choosing me, I don’t take my allyship lightly.”
