Low Share Impressionistic Video for "Poor Sucker"

Ambient dream-pop band Low have shared the video for “Poor Sucker” off their most recent album, Double Negative, out now through Sub Pop.

The video contrasts the song’s numbing waves of modulation with a sort of tactile performance art. Singer Alan Sparhawk gets a series of makeovers with face paint while he mouths the words to his own drowned, distant voice. The impressionist strokes of synth and guitar find their mirrors in the paint strokes that tear across Sparhawk’s face, giving the song’s solipsistic expanse shape and color through the canvas of face and screen.

Low will be touring for the remainder of the year. Find those dates further down.
