Morrissey is, in Fact, Headlining Chicago Riot Fest

Music News Morrissey

Indecision has a name and it is Morrissey. The musician is apparently back on the bill to play Chicago Riot Fest. Another single-sentence update was posted to his official fan site today, declaring, “Morrissey is confirmed to headline the Chicago Riot Fest on Saturday, September 17.”

Just this past Monday, a similar posting was seen on the site, simply informing, “As of this date (May 23), Morrissey is not a part of this year’s Chicago Riot Fest.” There have been no details released as to the initial apparent cancellation or the recent change of heart. But any Morrissey fan is used to this kind of thing from him—the cancellation part, anyway. Seasoned fans will probably even stay wary of excitement over his rejoining Riot Fest, because maybe we’ll wake up tomorrow to another update, empty of explanation.

Whether Morrissey plays or not, Riot Fest-goers can nevertheless look forward to a Misfits reunion, Ween, Death Cab For Cutie and Fitz & The Tantrums, among others and yet-to-be-announced acts, at the Chicago festival this Sept. 16-18.
